Healthcare in the West Loop, Chicago

The West Loop has no hospital of its own — but it has five walk-in urgent-care clinics, two hospital-affiliated physical-therapy clinics, and six dental practices. This page is the triage map: what kind of problem goes where, with addresses, hours, and walk-in policies read from each provider's own website (checked 2026-08-02).

Where to go, by situation

Life-threatening emergency

Call 911. For chest pain, stroke signs, severe bleeding, or trouble breathing, don't drive yourself — paramedics route you to the right hospital, and they can begin treatment on the way. There is no hospital inside the West Loop.

Can't wait for an appointment, but not an emergency

Sprains, cuts needing stitches, fevers, infections — this is urgent-care territory, and the neighborhood has five walk-in clinics of its own on Aberdeen and Adams. No appointment needed at any of them.

Everyday care, checkups, prescriptions

Primary-care doctors near the neighborhood are affiliated with Rush, Northwestern Medicine, UI Health, or Cook County Health — each system publishes a provider directory. Prescriptions are the pharmacies guide. (There is no MinuteClinic or in-store pharmacy clinic in the West Loop — see the FAQ.)

Rehab, recovery, and body work

Two RUSH Physical Therapy clinics operate in the neighborhood, and four chiropractic and wellness practices cover adjustment, massage, and acupuncture. Dental problems go to the dentists guide — including who takes same-day emergencies.

Urgent care in the neighborhood

Every clinic below sits inside the West Loop and takes walk-ins, per its own site (2026-08-02). They are not interchangeable. The first three are open seven days a week into the evening; the two Concentra centers close at 5 pm and are shut all weekend.

Worth knowing: Rush's own urgent care is in River North (539 N Dearborn, Mon–Sat 7–7, closed Sunday) — inside the neighborhood, the three clinics above are the walk-in options.

Physical therapy

RUSH Physical Therapy runs two clinics in the neighborhood, both inside Fitness Formula Clubs locations — hours and services below are from rushpt.com (2026-08-02). Click through for the license record and map.

For chiropractic-led rehab — including pelvic-floor physical therapy at West Loop Spine & Stability — see the chiropractors & wellness guide.

Substance-use treatment

Haymarket Center runs the neighborhood's substance-use and mental-health treatment services, and publishes round-the-clock access: "Access to Haymarket Center is possible 24/7/365 with no wait for assessment. We are never closed." Admissions are conducted at 120 N Sangamon St — not the Medical Suite address one door away at 124 N Sangamon, which keeps weekday hours — and the center states "Walk-ins are welcome." Central Intake is (312) 226-7984 ext. 480, and its help line is (312) 226-4357. Haymarket publishes that no one is denied treatment for inability to pay, and operates a sliding fee schedule. Outside office hours, intake runs through its withdrawal-management units. See the Haymarket Center record.

Specialty and outpatient clinics

Beyond urgent care, a handful of specialist and outpatient providers operate in and around the neighborhood. Facts below are from each provider's own site (2026-08-04); we don't publish insurance or cost claims unless the provider states them.

Two providers licensed to West Loop addresses are not places you can visit: Virtual Injury Care at 566 W Adams is licensed for "Virtual Office Services" and operates by telehealth, and Arch Angel Services sees clients by telehealth or in-home visits from a shared office suite. Triskele's Aberdeen Street clinic has not opened yet — its own FAQ says "We are currently seeing all clients virtually until our west loop clinical location opens."

Frequently asked questions

Is there a hospital in the West Loop?
No. There is no hospital inside the West Loop boundary. In a life-threatening emergency call 911 — paramedics route you to the right hospital and can begin treatment on the way, which is faster and safer than choosing one yourself. For anything that is not an emergency, the neighborhood has five walk-in urgent-care clinics, listed above.
Where is the nearest urgent care to the West Loop?
Five walk-in clinics operate inside the neighborhood. Three are open seven days a week into the evening: Northwestern Medicine Immediate Care West Loop at 171 N Aberdeen (every day until 7:30 pm, last registration), Midwest Express Clinic at 779 W Adams (weekdays 8–8, weekends 8–6), and Physicians Immediate Care at 600 W Adams (weekdays 8–8, weekends 8–2). Two Concentra centers — 1230 W Lake and 614 W Monroe — are weekdays 8–5 only and closed at weekends, so they are not an evening or Sunday option. All five accept walk-ins per their own sites.
Is there a MinuteClinic or pharmacy walk-in clinic in the West Loop?
No. CVS's own locator lists 11 MinuteClinics in Chicago and none is in 60607, and none of the five neighborhood Walgreens stores lists an in-store clinic. For same-day care use one of the five urgent-care clinics; for prescriptions, the pharmacies guide covers every counter in the neighborhood.
Where can I find a primary-care doctor near the West Loop?
The neighborhood has no general primary-care directory of its own. The clinics on this page are walk-in and specialty practices rather than primary-care panels; for an ongoing primary-care relationship, your insurer's provider directory is the practical starting point, since coverage rather than distance usually decides the choice.
Why doesn't WLV publish a "best primary care doctors" list?
License-record data doesn't support meaningful editorial judgment on medical practitioners, and we don't have a reliable third-party rating source we could cite per-practitioner. The dentist and chiropractor guides are hand-curated where the practices themselves publish public-facing sites we can verify against.
