WCIU first signed on February 6, 1964 as Chicago's first UHF station and remains family-owned. Sister stations WMEU-CD (channel 48) and MeTV/Heroes & Icons flagship WWME-CD (channel 23) also broadcast from the building; WCIU's transmitter sits atop Willis Tower.
