Winter in the West Loop
Indoor dining peak, the Bulls/Blackhawks season at United Center, Chicago Restaurant Week, and a quieter neighborhood overall.
Winter is the West Loop's quietest season for visitors but its most concentrated for residents. The Bulls and Blackhawks both play at United Center; Chicago Restaurant Week (late January) drives a dining peak; and the neighborhood's indoor venues (CH Distillery, WNDR Museum, Chicago Children's Theatre) carry the bulk of programming. Coldest part of the year locally — bundle up; the wind off Lake Michigan reaches across the West Loop.
