Clinton sits at the eastern edge of the West Loop on Lake Street between the river and the Loop. It is the closest CTA L stop to both Ogilvie Transportation Center (Metra Union Pacific lines) and Chicago Union Station (Amtrak + other Metra lines), making it the typical morning hand-off point for commuters arriving by rail.
Connected to Ogilvie Transportation Center via a passageway from 1970 to 1990 — the link no longer exists but the two stations remain a two-block walk apart.
Ridership trend. 2024 ridership is down 38% from the 2019 pre-pandemic peak — among the slower recoveries on the Green Line, consistent with the commuter-heavy Loop-edge location.
