Long-running businesses in and around the West Loop, still operating after at least 10 years, by the founding year their operator publishes on their own website. 199 total — 129 have passed the quarter-century mark; 70 sit between decade and quarter-century. Sorted oldest first inside each tier. 39 sit just outside the neighborhood boundary and are marked Near the West Loop.

Tenure is operator-attested. A business that says "Established 1923" on its own site is the source we cite — we never invent. Many WL businesses don't publish a founding year and are therefore silent on this list even when they’ve been around a while. Absence is not a signal.

How this list is built

Each entry's established year comes from the business's own public website or social profile, recorded in src/data/business-enrichment.json under the established field with a from: "website" citation. The annual anniversary cohorts live at /local-mainstays/2026 and will accumulate per January refresh.
